GiGO Launches First Franchise Business in Japan

GENDA GiGO Entertainment is taking a new step in the expansion of its popular GiGO amusement facilities, launching its first-ever franchise (FC) business in Japan. Until now, GiGO has primarily expanded through directly operated locations. With around 430 amusement facilities across Japan and overseas, the company is now looking to accelerate its growth by partnering with local businesses.

A new way to expand GiGO

The new franchise model is designed to bring GiGO’s entertainment offerings to more communities, more quickly. Rather than relying entirely on company-funded, directly operated stores, local partners will be able to leverage GiGO’s know-how while bringing their own edge.

The move also represents a more asset-light approach to growth, reducing the amount of capital GiGO needs to invest in each new location while creating opportunities to diversify its revenue base over the medium to long term.

The first partner: Sekitei

The first franchise partner is Sekitei Co., a Toyama-based food manufacturer. The two companies signed a basic agreement for the development of GiGO franchise locations on July 24, 2026.

Established in 1984, Sekitei develops, manufactures and sells food products and operates eight factories in Toyama Prefecture together with its group company, Furuta Foods.

The company is best known for its American corn dogs, for which it boasts the largest market share in Japan. Its product portfolio also includes masu sushi and frozen processed meat products, which it distributes nationwide.

While Sekitei’s core business is food manufacturing, its strong regional presence and knowledge of the local market make it an interesting first partner for GiGO as the company experiments with a new franchise-based expansion model.
