Step into Fantasy Worlds at Immersive Fort Tokyo

Immersive Fort Tokyo is a new concept theme park that invites visitors to dive into interactive, pop-culture-inspired adventures. Opened in March 2024 on the site of the former Venus Fort shopping mall in Odaiba, it emphasizes active engagement over traditional, passive entertainment. Here’s what to expect if you decide to visit.

Attractions included in ticket

Your one-day pass includes enjoyment of the following attractions:

  • Alice in Borderland Immersive Death Game: Being a fan of the Netflix series, this was hands-down my favourite attraction. You will need to get a 整理券 (numbered ticket) for one of the four daily time slots before participating. You can do this by scanning a QR code at the venue or a flyer. The game itself lasts around 15-20 minutes, and you play with hundreds of others. The best thing about it is that everyone is given a “death collar” to wear, just like the series. While it obviously doesn’t kill you, it does deliver some serious electric shocks if you fail to solve the game in time. And those shocks do kind of hurt, so the thrill of beating the clock is real.
  • Jack the Ripper: This “immersive horror maze” is like a haunted mansion based on the tale of London’s most famous killer. You go in groups of eight, holding a rope between you so no one gets lost. It is pretty creepy and you can’t really control how fast you go as you have to match the pace of others. The experience lasts around 10 minutes.
  • Immersive Tales: A walk-through story for Hansel and Gretel that you can choose to see from two perspectives — the children’s or the witch’s. There is English support on the Immersive Fort app.
  • Identity V Immersive Chase: Based on the popular online game, you get into factions to play a competitive game of tag.
  • The Cabaret: Enjoy lively dancing and music at performances starting from 5pm. Held at a restaurant with the same name, you can also grab something to eat while watching.
  • Oshi no Ko Immersive Rally: Puzzle solving themed on the popular anime about Japan’s pop idol industry.

There are also a number of impromptu street performances that take place randomly throughout the day. These include:

  • Party Festa!: A masquerade ball that everyone can join in dancing.
  • Enthusiasm! The Fortevita Incident: Major incidents unfold throughout the town of “Fortevita,” with some twists and turns. Visitors may also become involved in the story, such as transporting suspicious goods or taking part in rigorous training.
  • Spy Action!: A Money Heist-themed hostage skit where people in the red hoodies and rifles round up people amid a turf war.

While some attractions run throughout the day, others are only held certain times. Also, not all street performances take place every day, so check the daily schedule on the official website to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Premium attractions

If you wish to enjoy the following attractions, you will need to pay an additional fee on top of the ticket price.

  • Tales of Edo Oiran: Adults-only immersive show that takes you back 200 years to the red-light district of the Edo period. There are more than 100 story variations woven into the unique characters, with a single action of the audience able to change the outcome. The experience lasts 70 minutes.
  • The Sherlock: Baker Street Murder Case: This 90-minute show recreates Victorian era London on a large scale, immersing the audience into mysteries the famous detective became involved with.
  • Tokyo Revengers Immersive Escape: An escape room game themed on the Tokyo Revengers franchise that runs for around 105 minutes.

Restaurants

There are four restaurants within the theme park in addition to The Cabaret.

  • Casa di Peroni
  • Dolce Vita
  • Tokyo Revengers Cafe Flower

All are rather pricey for what the offer, as you are paying for the novelty more than anything else. They are also food stalls scattered on the streets of the venue with more reasonably priced items. This is what we opted to get to stave off our hunger, but it was lacklustre. In general, I recommend eating in Odaiba before or after your visit to Immersive Fort.

Unfortunately, the real thing looked nowhere near as good as the picture

Buy tickets

You can buy tickets from the official website, or third-party vendors like Trip.com and Klook. Tickets cost 6,800 yen per adult, plus any premium shows you wish to see. Take advantage of limited time offers, such as the Halloween campaign that discounts 2,000 yen off the ticket price until the end of November.
